John Moods
John Moods is the solo music project of Berlin native Jonathan J., co-founder of the band Fenster. At the heart of these pop songs is a desire to get up close and personal with nature and the infinite.
His work explores themes of healing, existence, and spirituality, reflecting on what it means to live on a planet in the universe, on accepting death, and on finding humour in existence. In response to the speed and saturation of modern life, his music engages with ideas of optimism and spirituality.
John Moods’ songs are characterised by intuitive melodies and smooth harmonies, combining elements of pop, soft rock and psychedelia.
He released his debut album The Essential John Moods in 2018 on Mansions and Millions, largely composed and produced on an iPhone while travelling. In 2021, he released So Sweet So Nice, a co-release with Arbutus Records and Mansions and Millions.
In 2022, he released Hidden Gem with the Zenmenn on Music From Memory, followed later that year by his third solo album, The Great Design.
In 2025, John Moods released Dreaming For Miles, a collaborative album with Discovery Zone.
